I’m not the most well versed in the culinary arts… so when I manage not to overcook chicken I have cause for celebration. Producing a dish that (a) has more than 3 ingredients and (b) falls out of the category of rice bowl is basically reason enough to bake myself a cake (I’m much better at baking.) Thus I was quite excited to successfully execute this recipe that actually required my cast iron skillet. It’s super easy, perfect for summer, and good-looking enough to be company-friendly. Pro tip: Someone once told me never to cook with wine you wouldn’t want to drink. Go for the good (mid-shelf?) bottle and enjoy it while you prep.

Views and Hues

The only thing better than finding new music is rediscovering old music. I dug up this playlist from the archives, originally inspired by the views and hues of my first summer in Santa Barbara. Now, three years later, I’m finding it a groovy accompaniment to countless walking and running steps I’ve taken through the views and hues of summer of my first summer in NYC.

To continue the trend of bevs fit for the hot and humid summer days of the East Coast… it’s Spritz season. Outside of the classic Aperol Spritz being a favorite of mine, I’ve been stumbling upon enough happy hour deals to convince me that they are simply the moment. At least three in the last couple of weeks, to be exact. I highly recommend finding the nearest Spritz-serving patio to you, packing your current read, and soaking up the final wave of summer sun rays. 🌞

P.S. Pictured is a RARE $5 happy hour find… hit up Roey’s on a weekday before 6pm if you’re in the city.
